Great educational sessions are such a good use of time but bad ones are a huge waste of time. We’ve all been in educational sessions only to realize five minutes into the session the content was misrepresented, or the speaker is horrible.
Yes, even the best events can have bad education sessions. Ironically, the same education session may be good for you and horrible for someone else. So as a presenter, you have to work hard to have great content no matter how skilled you are at speaking.
As a presenter, I enjoy it immensely when I see eyes light up in the room. It feeds me energy that helps me work hard to make my presentations great. It’s energizing to see the positive feedback scores but it is also very helpful to read the constructive comments about how it could have been better. Yes, even my top rated sessions usually have feedback that helps me make future presentations even better.
If I had the comments before or even during the session, I can adjust to my audience. In fact, some of the best content I share in presentations comes from feedback during the question-and-answer session.
So I don’t wait. I get input. I ask people for their ideas. Now, I’m asking you for yours. I will be presenting four sessions in Las Vegas: three at the PPAI Expo and one at the SAGE conference. Two presentations are new, and I’m very excited about the content but I want to incorporate your input. If you were going to share on Evernote for Salespeople or 12 Technologies to Increase Efficiency, what would you share?
Please comment in the comments section so others can build off of your idea. If you are too shy, let me know the old fashioned way (email that is, and if you don’t know my email, well, I’m out of luck…). And if you plan to attend and want to comment about what you want to learn, please do so.
Here are the sessions I’ll be presenting in Vegas in case you want to join me for them.
